Lucy Hoffman is an experienced business operations specialist who was born in America. She is the Head of Operations, COO and Co-Founder of Carry1st and assumed this position in September 2018. Between 2006 and 2007, while studying in Dartmouth College, she started her career as an intern at Credit Suisse. She graduated from Dartmouth College in 2008 after receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree. In 2007, she started working at Morgan Stanley, focusing on capital market transactions for global power and utility companies. After working in Morgan Stanley for five years, in 2012 she was Head of Operations at Nexii, an impact investment facilitation startup, in Cape Town. Lucy Hoffman has had a significant career journey, including her role as Chief of Staff at the African Leadership Academy from 2013 to 2018. She’s also been a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum since 2014. Lucy served as a Consultant for Nova Pioneer, a network of innovative schools, from March to July 2018. Since April 2018, she has advised Ritual, a well-being app. Additionally, Lucy is a Founding Community Member of StartX, an organization focused on collaborative efforts to create a long-term positive impact on the world.
